Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery under the direction of Newman Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today and 10 a.m. until time of services Tuesday at the church.

Mr. Herrington was born Sept. 19, 1934 in Hazelhurst, the son of Preston Boyd Herrington and Ella Corrine King Herrington. He was a retired grocery store owner and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was of the Baptist faith.

James was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Bobbie Mathis.

Survivors include his wife, Martha Ann Ford Herrington; one daughter, Patti Curry; three sons, James, Bud and Bob Herrington; special stepson, Kevin Livingston; two sisters, Ella Brorson of Big Fork, Mont., and Bonita Baldwin and husband, Bill, of Parker, Ariz.; three brothers, Preston Herrington and wife, Liza, of Albuquerque, N.M., Lester Herrington and wife, Bette, of Brandon and the Rev. Higdon Herrington and wife, Helen, of Winona; eight grandchildren and one special step-granddaughter, Kristen Livingston.

Pallbearers will be Mac Fletcher, Wayne McDaniel, Gene Lofton, William Mathis, Les Herrington and Russ Ford.

Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Habig, Douglas Bell, Lawrence Sequin, Billy Felter and Jamie White.
