FAYETTE — Services for Emma Louise “Big Mary” Herrington, 59, of Fayette, who died Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Salem Baptist Church in Stampley with the Rev. Maurice Irving officiating.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Ms. Herrington was born May 13, 1953, in Fayette, the daughter of Buster and Lucy Stampley Doss.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her guardians, Alex and Letha Doss; one brother, James Stampley Sr.; and one uncle, Jessie Joseph Johnson.
Survivors include three daughters, Aletha Stampley and husband, Earl, Catrina Moore and husband, Ricky, and Adrienne Jackson and husband, Antonio; three sons, Robert Jackson Jr., Anthony Jackson Sr. and wife, Lizzy, and Johnny Jackson and wife, Mattie, all of Fayette; three sisters, Dorothy Walker, Josie Frye and Mary Jackson, all of Fayette; four brothers, Warren Graves of Chicago, Julies Stampley Sr. and wife, Dorothy, Joseph Stampley Sr. and Melvin Roberts and wife, Mary, all of Fayette; two special cousins, Emma Doss and husband, Robert, and Morris Beverly III and wife, Lillie; two uncles, Willie Doss and Cosey B. Stampley; four aunts, Florine Stamege, Verlina Doss, Clara Johnson and Susie Butter; three godsons, Greg Queen and wife, Natalie, Jimmy Williams and Calvin Watson; and a number of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
