NATCHEZ — Services for Bessie Lyles Jackson, 74, of Natchez, who died Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, at her residence, will be at 11 a.m. today at New Zion Baptist Church No. 1 with the Rev. Earnest Ford Jr. officiating.
Burial will follow at Sunset View Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Webb Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time today at the church.
Mrs. Jackson was the daughter of Jessie and Essie Cain Lyles. She was a 1957 graduate of St. Francis High School, graduating as valedictorian of the class.
Mrs. Jackson worked in the medical profession at Jefferson Davis Hospital, the Natchez Charity Hospital, and in the offices of Dr. Jack Phillips and Dr. Eugene Taylor for more than 30 years. She was retired.
Mrs. Jackson was a member of New Zion Baptist Church No. 1.
Survivors include one daughter, A’drain Bocage and husband, Greyling; two grandchildren, Adriana and Taylor Bocage, all of New Orleans; one sister, Mildred Lyles and husband, Don, of Natchez; two brothers, Jessie Lyles Jr. of Houma, La., and Freddie Lyles of Natchez; four stepdaughters, Dorothy Dotson and Ira Baker, both of Natchez, Diana Parker of Acworth, Ga., and Elaine West of LaPuente, Calif.; and three stepsons, Willie Reynolds of Fort Worth, Texas, Donnell Jackson of Kansas City, Mo., and Kenneth Jackson of St. Louis, Mo.
