VIDALIA — Services for Kenneth Wayne Kunkle, 67, of Vidalia, who died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Vidalia First Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill McCullin and the Rev. Dusty Carson officiating.
Burial will follow at Legions Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Comer Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from noon until service time Thursday at the church.
Mr. Kunkle was born Feb. 19, 1945, in Angola, Ind., the son of Donald C. and Laurene Griffith Kunkle. He attended Hamilton High School in Hamilton, Ind., and was a graduate of Tri-State University in Angola with a degree in business administration and a minor in accounting in 1968. He worked for Y.S.S. Agri-Chemical in Central Indiana for eight years. In 1976, he moved to Louisiana to farm and in 1981, Kunkle Seed Company was built. In 1995, Mr. Kunkle sold his partnership to Kunkle Seed Company and Kunkle Farms. He then started K&M Spray Service, Inc., a commercial agriculture spraying business.
Mr. Kunkle had been a member of Vidalia First Baptist Church since 1992, and worked in the children’s Sunday school department since 1995.
He was preceded in death by his father and one brother, David L. Kunkle.
Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Melissa; seven children, Kendra Kunkle Slover and husband, Colt, Kendrick Wayne Kunkle, Kenzie Melissa Kunkle, Makayla Maryrylen, Madison Elizabeth, all of Vidalia, Lauri Kunkle of Chandler, Ariz., and Jennifer Kunkle Diagle and husband, Jodi, of Gonzales, La.; his mother; two sisters, Judy Manahan and Beverly Know, both of Angola; three grandchildren; and a number of extended family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Kendrick Kunkle, Colt Slover, Art Verdel, Johnny Martin, Lonnie Welch, Terry Mize and Mike Stockstill.
Honorable pallbearers will be Caleb Corley, Bill Roberts and Landon Seyfarth.
