TUPELO — Services for Maxine Fox Mitchell, 85, of Tupelo, formerly of Natchez, who died Thursday, April 9, 2009, at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo after a brief illness, were Saturday, April 11, 2009, at Holland-Harris Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Bryan Collier and the Rev. Jay Stanley officiating.
Graveside services were Monday, April 13, 2009, at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Holland-Harris Funeral Home in Tupelo.
Mrs. Mitchell was born Oct. 18, 1924, in Linden, Texas, the daughter of Charlie and Ethel Fox. She was a lifelong resident of Natchez until she moved to Tupelo in 2003 to live with her daughter and grandson.
She was a longtime member of the Church of Christ in Natchez and the owner/operator of Maxine’s Beauty Salon. Her hobbies were coin collecting, antique shopping and flea markets. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who always had a smile and an outgoing personality. She will truly be missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Troy James Mitchell on June 28, 2001; her mother, Mrs. R.C. Lambert; two brothers; and two sisters.
Survivors include one daughter, Scarlett Mitchell Fyke; and one grandson, Paul Jackson Fyke of Oxford.
