WOODVILLE — Services for L.C. Stewart Sr., 86, of Woodville, who died Thursday, April 23, 2009, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Kingsford Baptist Church with the Rev. Allen Handy officiating.
Burial will follow at Cedar Rest Cemetery in Woodville under the direction of Webb Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the church.
Mr. Stewart was born Oct. 15, 1922, in Lessley, the son of Willie Sr. and Jerlean Stewart.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Bertha Camelle Williams Stewart; one son, Terry Alvin Stewart; one great-granddaughter, Kennedy Jackson; one sister, Inez Stewart Ferguson; and four brothers, Willie Stewart Jr., Joseph Stewart, Roosevelt Stewart and Ernest Stewart.
Survivors include one son, L.C. Stewart Jr. and wife, Monica, of Woodville; two daughters, Gloria Briggs of Baton Rouge and Linda Wilson and husband, Alvin Sr., of Wilson, La.; three brothers, Earl Stewart and wife, Rosie, of Chicago, Clarence Stewart Sr. of Baton Rouge and Berine Stewart Sr. and wife, Sadie, of Woodville; a special nephew who he considered his bother, Bilbo Ferguson of Woodville; one sister, Bessie Stewart Green of Natchez; 13 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
