Tyler Scarbrough charged with possession of a weapon by convicted felon. Case bound over to a grand jury.
Fredrick Washington charged with possession of a controlled substance. Case bound over to a grand jury. Washington also charged with obstructing justice. Case bound over to a grand jury.
Justin Blackwell charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance. Case bound over to a grand jury.
Kelvin Johnson charged with two counts of sale of a controlled substance. Case bound over to a grand jury.
Frank Williams charged with four counts of prescription forgery.
Terry Calvin pleaded guilty to disturbing the peace.

Court Cases

Wednesday, Feb. 6:

Frederick Hunt pleaded guilty to the lesser offense of accessory after the fact to murder in Judge Lillie Blackmon Sanders’ court. Sentenced to five years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections. Upon release from the MDOC, the defendant must all court costs and a prosecution fee of $200 in the office of the Adams County Circuit Clerk. Credit given for any time already served in the Adams County Jail.

Monday, Feb. 4:

Jimmy Watkins Jr. has his post-release supervision revoked in Judge Forrest “Al” Johnson’s court for being in violation of the terms of his supervision by (1) willfully failing to report to his probation/parole officer and (2) leaving the State of Mississippi without permission as he was arrested on a new charge in the State of Georgia. Must serve the remaining balance of his sentence in the MDOC.
Marvin Jones has his post-release supervision revoked in Johnson’s court for being in violation of the terms of his supervision by failing to report to the probation and parole officer as directed. Must serve the remaining balance of his sentence in the MDOC.

Thursday, Jan. 31:

Gerry Donnell Byrd pleaded guilty to burglary of a dwelling — non-habitual (Count III) in Sanders’ court. Sentenced to 25 years in the MDOC. Counts 1 and 2 (burglary of a dwelling) are dismissed.

Monday, Jan. 28:

Tyrone McGriff pleaded guilty to burglary of a dwelling in Sanders’ court. Sentenced to three years in the MDOC. After serving nine months, the remaining balance is to be served on two years and three months post release supervision, which shall be supervised under the supervision of the MDOC. Credit given for any time already served in the Adams County Jail. Three-year sentence shall run concurrently with sentence in previous cause. Must pay all court costs and a prosecution fee of $200 in the office of the Adams County Circuit Clerk. McGriff also pleaded guilty to burglary of an automobile in Sanders’ court. Sentenced to three years in the MDOC to run concurrently with sentence in previous cause. After serving nine months, the remaining balance is suspended and the defendant is place on two years and three months formal post release supervision under the supervision of the MDOC. The defendant shall pay all outstanding Adult Drug Court costs, fees and assessments. Credit given for any time already served in the Adams County Jail.

Friday, Feb. 1:

Rodrick K. Hunt, 25, pleaded guilty to shoplifting — first offense. Fine set at $519. Hunt also pleaded guilty to resisting arrest. Sentenced to 30 days with 28 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. To serve two days in jail. Fine set at $494. Hunt also pleaded guilty to two counts of misdemeanor false pretense. Total fine set at $788.32.
Courtney Loiselle, 21, pleaded guilty to shoplifting — first offense. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Fine set at $519.
Chadwick Samuel Williams, 33, pleaded guilty to resisting arrest. Sentenced to 30 days with 28 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. To serve two days in jail. Fine set at $494.
Bill Hunt Calvin, 35, pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct — failure to comply with officer. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Fine set at $444.
Aubrey Moore, 52, charged with misdemeanor false information. Case dismissed.
Dixie Latrice Terrell, 32, pleaded guilty to disturbing the peace. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Fine set at $344.
Wallace Lee Trahern III, 20, pleaded guilty to public drunkenness. Sentenced to 10 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Fine set at $294.

Monday, Feb. 4:

Courtland J. Butler, 28, found guilty of disorderly conduct — failure to comply with officer. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Fine set at $494 minus $194 suspended. Must pay a fine of $300.
Alfonse Morgan, 53, found guilty of shoplifting — first offense. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Fine set at $494.
Carlos A. Smith, 24, found guilty of shoplifting — first offense. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Fine set at $469.
Charles Woods Jr., 22, charged with possession of a controlled substance. Case dismissed — testing of substance not performed. Woods also charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana. Case dismissed — testing of substance not performed.
Betty Ruth Cheeran pleaded guilty to public drunkenness. Sentenced to 10 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Fine set at $294.

Wednesday, Feb. 6:

Chelsea Elaine Whittington, 27, found guilty of shoplifting — first offense. Sentenced to 30 days with 23 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. To serve seven days in jail. Banned from Belk. Fine set at $569.
Pamela U. Beverly, 26, pleaded guilty to amended charge of disturbing the peace. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for two years pending good behavior. Fine set at $519.
Timothy Shayne Piper, 23, charged with simple assault attempt to create fear. Case remanded to files — victim unable to be served. Stale case.
Wesley Calvin, 28, pleaded guilty to DUS — revoked or suspended. Sentenced to 10 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Fine set at $425.
Krystal D. Sewell, 21, found guilty of disturbing the peace. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Fine set at $469 minus $100 suspended. Must pay a fine of $369.
