NATCHEZ — Services for Ellen Rebecca Davis, 68, of Natchez, who died Friday, April 24, 2009, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Forest Aid Baptist Church with the Rev. Lloyd Bailey officiating.
Burial will follow at Grove African Methodist Episcopal Church under the direction of Webb Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home and from noon until service time Saturday at the church.
Miss Davis was born June 30, 1940, in Natchez, the daughter of Hugo and Carrie Davis. She was a 1959 graduate of Sadie V. Thompson High School. Her employment included Family Fashions, H.F. Byrne and JC Penney. She was a member of the Grove African Methodist Episcopal Church. She was a member of the senior choir and served as class leader for class number one. She loved to sew, enjoyed watching television and singing in the choir.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Celia D. Dixon; one brother, James Roger Davis; and grandparents, Richard and Celia B. Norman and Hugo Sr. and Ida Davis.
Survivors include six siblings, Mary Louise Green, Doretha D. Chatman, Charlestine B. Davis, Ida M. Poché and husband, Alphonso, Lee A. Davis and wife, Hollis, and Ernest B. Davis and wife, Teresa; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be nephews.
