Services for James V. “Jimmy” Calcote Jr., 51, of Natchez, who died Saturday, May 2, 2009, at his family hunting land in McCall Creek, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church Natchez with the Revs. Doug Broome and Bill Hurt officiating.
Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. today at the church.
Mr. Calcote was born Jan. 10, 1958, the son of James V. Calcote Sr. and Dorothy Calcote.
He attended South Natchez-Adams High School and graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1980. He spent 25 years as a medical technologist at Natchez Regional Medical Center and was most recently employed with Natchez Pathology Laboratory.
Mr. Calcote faithfully served his Lord and savior Jesus Christ at First Baptist Church of Natchez as a deacon, Sunday school teacher and on numerous committees. He was also a member of the Gideons International, a group devoted to spreading the gospel of Christ through Bible distribution worldwide.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Survivors include his wife of 29 years Felicia Rochelle Calcote; one daughter, Jennifer Calcote of Brandon; one son, Jason Calcote of Natchez; his mother; and two sisters, Sue Calcote Baldwin of Terry and Linda Calcote Brown of Florence.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Geter, Clark Smith, Robbie Savant, Bill Rice, Richard Brown and Mike Baldwin.

Fred Clark
July 14, 1932 – April 27, 2009
Natchez — Services for Fred Clark, 76, of Natchez, who died April 27, 2009, at Peach Tree Christian Hospice in Atlanta will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Zion Hill No. 1 Baptist Church with the Rev. Chester Cain Jr. officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of George F. West Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the church.
Mr. Clark was born July 14, 1932, in Natchez, the son of the Rena C. Davis and John McClain and step-father Theodore Davis.
Mr. Clark received Christ at an early age. He attended Holy Family School. He was an honorable veteran of the U.S. Navy.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Mary D. Green; and one brother, John Davis.
Survivors include five sisters, Ida Davis and husband James, Annette D. Carter and husband Odell, Laura Bonds and husband Vincent, all of Natchez, Helen D. Barrow, Bessie D. Stephenson and husband Terry, all of Atlanta; three brothers, James Davis and wife Deborah of Seattle, Harold Davis of New Orleans and Clarence McClain of Natchez; one aunt, Redecca Clark of Natchez; numerous other aunts and uncles in Las Vegas, nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends.
The family gives special thanks to PeachTree Christian Hospice of Lawrenceville, Ga., the Veterans Administration Hospital in Atlanta and friends and family.
