CENTREVILLE — Services for Joe Wayne Davis, 60, of Centreville, who died Tuesday, May 5, 2009, at Field Memorial Hospital, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Macedonia Methodist Church with the Rev. Warren Whitaker and Dr. Dennis Johnsey officiating.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Newman Funeral Home in Centreville.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 1 p.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mr. Davis was the son of Joe Vernon Davis and Mary Anita Davis. He was employed by McDaniel Logging as a truck driver. He also served in the U.S. Army 101st Airborne. He attended Pioneer Baptist Church for many years. He was an avid hunter.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one son, Michael Wayne Davis.
Survivors include his wife, Jennifer Davis; one son, Adam Clayton Davis and fiancée, Cindy Carter, both of Hattiesburg; one sister, Ann McGraw and husband, Harrison, of Centreville; mother-in-law, Billie Ruth Goolsby of Centreville; two sisters-in-law, Alicia Stringer and Sue Ellen Goolsby, both of Summit; and one nephew, Brice Bankston.
Pallbearers will be Adam Davis, Brian Smith, Dustin Bankston, Ron Bankston, Josh Stringer and Aaron Goolsby.
Honorary pallbearers Harrison McGraw, Boyce Davis, Jerry Enis Jr., Donald Enis, Charles Goolsby, Chris Sterling, Wesley Sterling Jr. and Dennis McDaniel.
