GLOSTER — Services for Charles L. Shell Jr., 64, of Flowood, formerly of Gloster, who died Wednesday, May 6, 2009, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Jackson, will be at 1 p.m. today at Brown Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Elwood Crews officiating.
Burial will follow at Roseland Cemetery in Gloster under the direction of Brown Funeral Home in Gloster.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Mr. Shell was born March 13, 1945, in Franklin County, the son of Charles Shell Sr. and Opal Shell.
Charles joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 1966 and served in Vietnam, where he received a purple heart for his bravery in battle.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Shell; one daughter, Sherry Ingmire of Flowood; and two grandsons, Anthony and Daniel.
