Julian Delaughter

NATCHEZ — Services for Julian A. Delaughter, 83, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, May 13, 2009, at his residence, will be at 11 a.m. today at Grace United Methodist Church with the Rev. Darian Duckworth officiating.
Burial will be at 1 p.m. at Ebenezer Methodist Church Cemetery in Franklin County under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Mr. Delaughter was born in Tylertown, the son of Jewel B. and Annie Rushing Delaughter. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and a member of the Men’s Club.
Mr. Delaughter was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II where he served on the LST843-Ship. He retired from Mississippi Power and Light Company after 40 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepmother, Arie Delaughter; and one sister, Veda Lee Fulton.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Morie T. Delaughter; two sons, Julian Lynn Delaughter and wife, Leigh, of Natchez and Joseph Wade Delaughter and wife, Denise, of Jacksonville, Fla.; one daughter, Jennifer G. Essary of Natchez; one brother, Jerome B. Delaughter of Jackson; one sister, Mary Ellen Conerly of Tylertown; five grandchildren, Dianna Delaughter, Travis Delaughter, Jodie Delaughter, Michael Essary and Angela Essary; seven great-grandchildren, Lynnzee, Sadeye and Terry Delaughter, Bryce and Taylor Delaughter, Te’a and Paityn Delaughter.
The family wishes to thank special caregivers, Linda Williams, Louise Hutcherson, Grace Woods and Dr. Barry F. Tillman for restoring hope for Julian and his family.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Grace United Methodist Church or Ebenezer Methodist Church.
