LAKE ST. JOHN — Services for Lannie Coyle Brown, 74, of Ferriday, who died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, in Ferriday, will be at 2 p.m. today at Lake St. John Community Baptist Church with the Rev. Mark Richardson and the Rev. Don Bush officiating.

Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from noon until service time today at the church.

Mr. Brown was born April 29, 1938, in Natchez, the son of Raymond and Ina K. Brown. He was owner and operator of Browns Auto Ranch, currently Concordia Metals.

Mr. Brown was a member of Lake St. John Community Baptist Church and had proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying not only hunting and fishing, but just being in the outdoors. He was always working in his chicken pens or taking care of his many animals with his Pug, Muggie, by his side.

Mr. Brown was preceded in death by one son, Coyle Wayne Brown; his parents; one sister, Arlene Craig; five brothers, Joseph Edward Brown, Grey Wayne Brown, Frank James Brown, Paul Eugene Brown and Clarence Darrow Brown; and special friend, Paul Edwards. He and Paul were always together and into mischief.

Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years, Nancy Lee Brown; one daughter, Sharon Brown of Natchez; two sons, Dennis Brown of Horn Lake and Travis Brown and wife, Connie, of Ferriday; six grandchildren, Dustin Sayes, Striker Brown, Abi Brown, Levi Brown, Ty Brown and Jake Brown; and two brothers, Dan Brown and R.W. Brown.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Striker Brown, Ty Brown, Levi Brown and Jake Brown and Freddie Trisler, Jody Perrualt and Steve Edwards.

Memorial donations may be made to the Lake St. John Community Baptist Church Building Fund.
