Speed bumps an unnecessary hazard

I’m with Ed Field, “Speed humps are benefit to no one,” (Democrat, 10/28/09).
Plus this — they don’t work! We older drivers, who don’t drive at unsafe speeds, like smooth-riding cars. We have to slow down because our cars won’t take it.
For young drivers, who like stiff, racing suspension, speed bumps are a challenge (four in the air?). For them, they truly are speed humps.
For the rest of us they are annoyance humps.
