MEADVILLE — Services for Hubert Wayne Kent, 71, of Meadville, who died Sunday, June 14, 2009, at St. Dominic Medical Center in Jackson, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Meadville Baptist Church with the Rev. Emory May and the Rev. John Ford officiating.
Burial will follow at Midway Cemetery under the direction of Franklin Funeral Home in Meadville.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Kent was born Sept. 7, 1937, in Franklin County, the son of Hubert L. Kent and Mollie Sullivan Kent. He was employed by Armstrong Tire and Rubber Company for 23 years and was a retiree of the Mississippi Department of Transportation.
He was a member of Meadville Baptist Church and served in the U.S. Army National Guard.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; and one grandson.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Alsworth Kent; one daughter, Patricia Bedford of Meadville; two sons, Wade Kent and wife, Martha Jo, of Meadville and Keith Kent and wife, Julie, of Terry; four grandsons, Zach Bedford, Will Bedford, Hayden Kent and Landon Kent; two sisters, Juanita Wallace and Edwina Price, both of Meadville; and two brothers, Wesley Kent of Brookhaven and Kenneth Kent of Meadville.
Pallbearers will be Philip Price, Thomas Stewart, Kirk Williamson, M.L. Bonds, Weston Yates and Tommy Smallwood.
