LAUREL — For the second-straight game, the Adams County Christian School boys’ soccer team had a multiple-goal lead on Laurel Christian.

And for the second-straight game, Laurel Christian clawed its way back into the contest and stole victory in the final minutes.

With the game tied at three goals apiece, the Lions managed to find the back of the net with less than two minutes to go and held on for a 4-3 win.

“We had great intensity for three quarters of the game,” ACCS head coach Jim Allgood said. “It was an all-out battle, and this gives us back-to-back tough games against (a past state champion).”

Thursday night, ACCS led Laurel Christian 4-1 before surrendering five-consecutive tallies to fall 6-4.

Dylan Galbreath scored in the first half of the game, and the two teams went into the break tied at a goal each.

Austin Walker and Lester Wells then netted goals to give ACCS a 3-1 lead before Laurel Christian came back to tie and eventually win.

The loss dropped ACCS to 12-3-3 overall on the season and 3-3 in district play. The Rebels will face Columbia Academy on the road Wednesday.
