NATCHEZ — Memorial services for Norma Dixon Edwards Conner, 54, of Natchez, who died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013, at University Medical Center in Jackson, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Rose Hill Missionary Baptist Church.

Arrangements are under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.

Mrs. Conner was a 1976 graduate of North Natchez High School and received a bachelor of science degree from Alcorn State University in May 2010.

Norma united in holy matrimony to R. Lonnell Conner Sept. 9, 1999, a union that lasted 14 years. She was a very devoted wife and loving mother.

Over the course of her adult life, Norma has served the public in a number of occupations. She was employed with County Market, Natchez Market No. 2 and Natchez-Adams School District. Her most recent employment was with Alcorn State University where she worked in the Office of Business Affairs.

Norma was preceded in death by her grandparents, Albert and Lucy Dixon; three aunts; and three uncles.

Survivors include a devoted and loving husband, R. Lonnell Conner; one daughter, Nicalle S. Edwards of Dallas; one grandson, Jayvarus of Dallas; extended children, Joseph Butler and wife, Sherry, of Houston, Texas, Shaun Edwards and Lakesha Edwards, both of Ocean Springs and Tamitha Wiley of Dallas; special children, Anthony and Casey Conner of Natchez; her mother, Geraldine Dixon of Natchez; four brothers, Elbert Dixon Sr. and wife, Nancy, and Otis Dyer and wife, Brenda, all of Roxie, Charles Byrd and wife, Annette, of Fort Myers, Fla., and Marshall Dixon and wife, Elizabeth, of Brandon; three sisters, Janifer L. Robinson and Pamela Robinson and husband. Terrence, all of Natchez, and Lisa Dixon and husband, Eric, of Buford, Ga.; father-in-law, Riley McNeil Sr. of Natchez; mother-in-law, Eddie Lea Curtis of Natchez; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and other relatives.
