NATCHEZ — Services for Clarence Smith, 71, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Walter Smith officiating.

Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Son Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from noon until service time Friday at the church.

Mr. Smith was born Jan. 4, 1942, in Adams County, the son of Andrew Smith Sr. and Bertha Hutchins Smith.

Mr. Smith was self-employed as a painter. He was also a former custodian at Adams County public schools and Johns Manville Inc.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Andrew Smith Jr. and Henry Lee Smith; one sister and her husband, Bertha Smith King and Charles King Sr.

Survivors include one son, Kenya Smith and wife, Christy, of Texas; one daughter, Beaulah Smith of Natchez; one sister, Hanna Wimberly and husband, Willie, of Natchez; one brother, Willie Smith and wife, Ethel, of Georgia; two sisters-in-law, Cozetta Smith and Ruby Smith, both of Natchez; one grandson, Kenya Smith Jr.; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be friends of the family.
