NATCHEZ — Natchez police are investigating a Sunday night armed robbery in which a man was reportedly beaten with a pistol.
According to Natchez Police Investigator Jerry Ford, the victim was washing his car behind the Seven-Star Store on U.S. 61 North.
“While (the victim was) washing his car, another guy pulled up in a car and was apparently taking two guys who had caught a ride with him to the store,” Ford said.
“While (the driver was) sitting in the car, his car started running hot and he went into the store to get water in a bucket, and while he was dong that those guys who were with him went to the victim. One got his attention while the other struck him in the head with a pistol; then they robbed him for an undetermined amount of money.”
The matter is under investigation. Ford said the police do not have any suspects at this time.
