NATCHEZ — Graveside services for Glenn Henry, 78, of Natchez, who died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013, at the University Medical Center in Jackson, will be at 10 a.m. today at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Jeff Brewer officiating.

Burial will follow under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Mr. Henry, the eighth of 10 children, was born April 19, 1934, in Mathiston, the son of Hearon Otis Henry and Sybia Jones Henry. He was a 1952 graduate of Mathiston High School. Upon his honorable discharge from the U.S. Army in 1958, he worked at Cash and Carry Cleaners in West Point until he married Vivian N. Henry in 1962. They were married for 43 years. They moved to Booneville where he lived and worked for 15 years. He worked for Gulf Finance and was the weather observer for Prentiss County.

Mr. Henry moved his family to Natchez in 1980. He was a self-employed businessman for 30 years and was known as a quiet, hard-working man who cared deeply for his family and others. Until the time of his death, he was employed part-time at Simmons Cleaners in Natchez.

Mr. Henry was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Vivian N. Henry; three brothers, an infant brother, Tim Henry and Owenton Henry; and one sister, Tommie Otis Darsey.

Survivors include three daughters, Pam Steele and husband, Ken, and Angelia Henry, all of Natchez, and Veronica Hashieder and husband, Randy, of Shreveport, La.; four grandchildren, Katie Steele, Devin Brandenburg, both of Natchez, Andria Hashieder and Thomas Hashieder, both of Shreveport; four sisters, Wilene Harper and Maudie Young and husband, Gailon, all of West Point, Mary McClaine of Douglasville, Ga., and Annice Breland of Mathiston; two brothers, Rudy Henry and wife, Opal, and Burl Henry and wife, Betty, all of West Point; and one sister-in-law, Dot Henry of Natchez.

Pallbearers will be Danny McClain, Jeff Henry, Joe Henry, Dale Henry, Robert Allen Darsey and Randy Porter.
