FERRIDAY — Services for Agnes T. Hales, 96, of Ferriday, who died Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2009, at Riverland Medical Center in Ferriday, will be at 11 a.m. today at Young’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Russell Crum officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Hales was born May 14, 1913, in Utica, the daughter of Jake Cleveland Templeton and Rose Green Templeton. She was employed by Myers Dry Goods, Doris’ Dress Shop and she was a volunteer with the Pink Ladies at Riverland Medical Center.
Mrs. Hales was a devoted member of the First Presbyterian Church in Ferriday.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Chester Hales; her parents; one son-in-law, Billy Burley; two brothers, Charles and Don Templeton; and two sisters, Dorothy Lutrick and Carolyn Barker.
Survivors include one daughter, Joanne Burley of Vidalia; two grandsons, Bill Burley of Monterey and Michael Burley and wife, Ann, of Ferriday; one granddaughter, Melinda Pat of Ferriday; five great-grandchildren, Zachary, Hayden, Lynn Pat, Rex and Bailey; two sisters, Kathrine Price and Velma Johnston; and one brother, Don Templeton.
Pallbearers will be Bill Burley, Michael Burley, Zachary Burley, Hayden Patt, Tom Milliken and John Taylor.
