NATCHEZ — For many, the coming weekend may best be spent snuggled up on the couch before the first full week after the holidays begins.
The events calendar is certainly light, aside from a few private Mardi Gras events, and it’s going to be a cold one.
The predicted high for Friday is 49 degrees, and by Sunday night the low is 26.
But for those in need of a break from the family, the house or the post-holiday blues, a few local events are planned.
Friday Forum
The Natchez-Adams County Chamber of Commerce will kick off the new year of forums from 8 to 9 a.m. Friday at Natchez Coffee Company. The speaker will be Sue Stedman, who is a member of the Natchez-Adams County Humane Society Board.
Natchez Business and Civic League After Hours
The NBCL will host an after hours from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Natchez Association for the Preservation of African American Culture Museum on Main Street. Local members of the business community are welcome to attend and exchange business cards.
Zumba fitness party
The Natchez Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority will get things moving with a Zumba class from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Natchez Mall.
The event is free and open to the public. No prior experience with Zumba fitness is necessary to participate and have fun. Prizes will be available.
