ROXIE — Services for Billy Case Walker, 86, of Roxie, who died Friday, August 21, 2009, at Franklin Memorial Hospital in Meadville, will be 3 p.m. today at Roxie Baptist Church.

Burial will follow at Roxie Cemetery under the direction of Franklin Funeral Home in Meadville.

Visitation from 2 p.m. until time of services today.

Mr. Walker was born March 27, 1923, the son of Rufus Walker and Mary Case Walker. He was retired from Chevron Oil Company and a member of Roxie Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II with the 325th Search Light and Anti-Aircraft Battalion B. He fought on Okinawa and was serving during the United States’ victory over Japan. He was an avid sportsman and wood crafter. He was a Mason and Shriner for more than 50 years with the S.B. Stampley Lodge No. 222 of Roxie. He and his wife enjoyed traveling the U.S., Mexico and Canada. Mr. Walker was an avid supporter of his grandsons in their activities.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

Survivors include his wife, Norma Johnson Walker; one son, Eddie Walker and wife, Cathy, of Natchez; two grandsons, Andrew Walker
