LOS ANGELES — Services for Robert W. Gibson, 51, who died Thursday, Aug. 20, 2009, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Boyd Funeral Home with Bro. Bower officiating.
Burial will follow at Riverside National Cemetery under the direction of Boyd Funeral Home in Los Angeles.
Mr. Gibson was born in Adams County, the son of Rufus Gibson and Mable Gibson. He was a 1976 high school graduate and a graduate of Trade Tex College with a degree in marketing. He was employed by L.A.U.S.D. in transportation.
Mr. Gibson served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1979. He was a member of Church of Christ. He enjoyed baseball and was a coach.
He was preceded in death by his mother; and grandmother, Lubertha Collins.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia S. Gibson; one son, Marsail Ford; his father; four brothers, Willie Hunt and wife, Alisa, of Chicago, Aaron Gibson of Trend, N.J., the Rev. Ronnie Gibson of Los Angeles, and David Gibson and wife, Mary, of Natchez; five sisters, Betty Hunt, Patricia Bacon and husband, Warrenton, Lucille Butler, all of Natchez, Marilyn Foster and husband, John, of Atlanta, and Patricia Lewis of St. Louis, Mo.; one granddaughter, Chae Ford; one special niece, Keisha Butler of Dallas; and a number of nieces, nephews, friends and relatives.
