NATCHEZ — Temperatures will finally begin to feel seasonally appropriate in the coming days and into the last weekend of 2012.

Rain is possible Friday, but skies should clear Saturday and Sunday. Planned events are limited, due to the holiday season, but there are still a few options for those of you looking for some weekend fun.

Downtown walking tour

The Natchez National Historical Park will have a downtown walking tour from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday.

The tour starts at the William Johnson House, 210 State St., and focuses on the life Johnson lived as a freed black man.

Longwood in Lights driving tour

For those still in the Christmas spirit, Longwood’s light show will remain open through Saturday night.

A drive-through tour allows viewers to see the house and the grounds in lights. Tour hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. The tour is free this Saturday.

New Year’s watch night service

The Natchez Association for the Preservation of African American Culture, the Natchez National Historical Park and Mission Mississippi will partner for a New Year’s Eve watch night service titled, “The Celebration of 150 Years of Freedom — New Year’s Watch Night Service 1862-2012.”

The night will include a free concert performed by an inter-denominational mass choir and area soloists singing songs of freedom.

The service is from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Natchez City Auditorium.

American Queen docking

The American Queen steamboat is scheduled to dock at Natchez Under-the-Hill at 8 a.m. Monday.
