Julia Marie Coleman of Harriston announces the engagement and upcoming marriage of her daughter, Shenicki Shanta Coleman, to Derrick Deon Moore, son of Debra Moore of Fayette and John Ellis Sr. of Red Lick.

The bride-to-be- is also the daughter of the late Clarence Lee Coleman Sr., of Harriston.

She is a graduate of Jefferson County High School and attended Tuskegee University, where she received a bachelor of arts degree in psychology with a minor in occupational therapy. Shenicki is currently completing her last semester in graduate school at Tuskegee University in the College of Veterinary, nursing and allied health for a master of science degree in occupational therapy.

She is the granddaughter of Ulyesses Odoms Jr. and Murdlia Odoms of Carlisle and the late Eugene Murphy Jr. and Murphy Coleman of Harriston.

The groom-to-be is employed by Shaw Nuclear Plant in Lake Charles, La. as a certified welder.

He is the grandson of James and Mary Ellis of Fayette and the late Abraham and Lillie Starkes, also of Fayette.

The wedding will be at 4:30 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, at the Grand Hotel in Natchez.

A cocktail reception and a reception will follow in Grand Ballroom.
