NATCHEZ — With six days until show time, many locals are likely to use the last weekend before Christmas for last-minute shopping, holiday parties and finishing touches.
But for those who planned ahead, the calendar of events offers a few entertainment options worth exploring. Weather conditions — though not particularly Christmassy — should cooperate with any outdoor fun.
Castle Christmas Celebration
The Castle and Dunleith will celebrate the season with the community from 6 to 9 tonight.
Multiple food stations will be set up at the restaurant, 84 Homochitto St., and drinks are included in the $45 ticket price.
Local musicians will perform. Attire is cocktail. Tickets are available in advance for $40. Call 601-446-8500.
Longwood in Lights driving tour
For those headed out for a windshield tour of town to view Christmas lights and sip hot chocolate, antebellum Longwood will remain fully lit until Dec. 29.
A drive-through tour for $5 allows viewers to see the house and the grounds in lights. Tour hours are from 6 to 8 p.m.
Trinity Episcopal Church advent
recital
The church will offer the last in a series of recitals at noon Friday. Sandra Lunte of the University of Louisiana at Monroe will perform on flute.
The concert is free and open to the public.
Downtown walking tour
The Natchez National Historical Park will offer a free walking tour at 2 p.m. Saturday. The tour will begin at the William Johnson House, 210 State St., and last one hour.
Zion Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church
The church will have its annual Christmas program starting at 8 a.m. Breakfast will be served following a program, and the public is invited.
