Burnette Thornton

BUDE — Services for Burnette Thornton, 79, of Bude, who died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012, at Natchez Regional Medical Center will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel at Franklin Funeral Home.

Burial will follow in Siloam Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Franklin Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. today and for 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home. .

Mr. Thornton was born April 12, 1933, in Franklin County, the son of Henry B. and Annie Freeman Thornton.

He was a retired electrician and a U.S. Navy veteran. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Siloam Baptist Church.

Mr. Thornton was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Pat Thornton, Bernard Thornton, Alton Thornton, Barney Thornton and Donald Thornton and sisters Lelia Murray and Johnnie Nicholson.

Survivors include his sons, Benjamin T. Thornton and wife, Dawn, and James M. Thornton, all of Liberty; daughters Tammy R. Thornton of Bude and Kathy Wroten of Smithdale; brother, Glen Thornton and wife, Linda, of Ridgeland; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
