VIDALIA — Services for Prince Brown Jr., 85, of Vidalia, who died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012, at Riverland Medical Center in Ferriday, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Triumph Baptist Church in Vidalia with the Rev. Ernest Ford Jr. officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Brown was born Dec. 17, 1926, in Shaw, La., the son of Prince and Kate Hunter Brown. He had employed by the City of Vidalia in the gas department. He was also a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army.
Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his parents; three children, James, Alonza and Jennifer Brown; three brothers; and five sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Ethel McCoy Brown; three sons, Prince Brown Jr. and wife, Elaine, Johnny Brown and Everette Brown; seven daughters, Victoria Brown, Violet Dunbar and husband, Willie, Sondra Williams and husband, Terence, all of Vidalia, Bertha Arbuthnot and Alma Brown, both of Carrollton, Ga., Gwendolyn Victor and husband, Jervier, of Denver, Colo., and Sharon Brown of Natchez; one sister, Alberta Brown of Vidalia; a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
