NATCHEZ — With temperatures reaching the mid to upper 70s, it’s going to be a pleasant — though perhaps not Christmassy — weekend to enjoy some of the many holiday-related events.

Lights driving tour

Beginning Saturday, Longwood will be having a drive-though Christmas lights tour.

The tour is from 6 to 8 p.m. and continues through Saturday, Dec. 29.

Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the Natchez Pilgrimage Tours counter located inside the Natchez Visitor Reception Center, at Longwood or at www.natchezpilgrimage.com.

Second Saturday

Second Saturday in Downtown Natchez begins at 10 a.m. on the bluff with Art on the Bluff.

Artists will be on hand to showcase their crafts until 3 p.m.

Downtown stores and galleries will extend their hours for shopping and entertainment until 8 p.m.

Natchez Christmas Carol

Natchez Little Theatre is presenting “A Natchez Christmas Carol” beginning with its benefit performance at 7 tonight.

Proceeds from tonight’s show will go to the Dawn Taylor Memorial Scholarship fund. Tickets are $10.

The production will continue throughout the weekend with performances at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and at 2 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $15 beginning with Friday night’s show.

Breakfast with Santa

Jefferson Street United Methodist Church is hosting breakfast with Santa and a bake sale from 8 to 11 a.m. at the church.

Tickets for breakfast with Santa are $7. All proceeds will go to benefit the Jefferson Street Preschool.

The menu includes eggs, sausage, pancakes, grits, juice and coffee. Parents can take photos of children with Santa.

Holiday concert

The Eola Hotel and Guest House is hosting the adult, children and hand bell choirs of First Presbyterian Church for a free holiday concert at 5:30 p.m. today in the hotel lobby.

Friday forum

This week’s topic is on taxes for this year and 2013. Sim Mosby from Silas Simmons and Adams County Tax Collector Peter Burns will be the featured speakers.

The weekly forum begins at 8 a.m. at the Natchez Coffee Company and is sponsored by Alcorn State University and the Natchez-Adams County Chamber of Commerce.

Auburn open house

Auburn Antebellum Home is celebrating its 200th birthday from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Sunday with its annual Christmas open house.

The open house is will include free tours, 1812 era refreshments and entertainment.

The music will be performed by Richard Williams and Dana Lux. Williams is an attorney with the Louisiana Supreme Court and a served as vice president for the Baton Rouge Little Theatre.

Lux is a vocal performance graduate from LSU and is active in the baton Rouge Little Theatre.

In 2008, Williams and Lux performed at the First Lady Laura Bush’s Christmas Open House.

Holiday tour of homes

The Southwest Chapter of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women is hosting its annual Holiday Tour of Homes from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday.

The tour will include stops at the houses of Adams County Supervisor Darryl Grennell, Bettye Bell, Lana Brown, Margie Moore and Rosa Newman.

Tickets are $10 and can be purchased from any club member or by calling 601-442-0017 or 601-442-5260.

All proceeds go to the club’s scholarship fund.

Christmas musical

Christ Life at the River and Highlands Campuses will present “Hope is Born: A Christmas Musicale” at 7 p.m. Sunday at the Natchez Convention Center.

The event is free and open to the public.

Caroling in the Courtyard

Callon Petroleum is sponsoring Caroling in the Courtyard featuring the Alcorn Choir from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday.
