Esther Paretti

LIBERTY — Services for Esther Brooks Paretti, 81, of Liberty, who died Friday, Nov. 6, 2009, at her daughter’s home in Slidell, La., will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Whittington Memorial Methodist Church with the Rev. James Lee Dawson officiating. Burial will follow in the Whittington Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Brown Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at the church and from 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the church.

Mrs. Paretti was born Oct. 18, 1928 in Liberty, the daughter of James C. Brooks and Gladys Larimore Brooks.

She was a retired secretary for Tillman Medical Group. She was a member of New Day Christian Fellowship in Liberty.

Mrs. Paretti was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elliott Henry Paretti and two brothers, Candler Brooks and Leslie “Bo” Brooks.

Survivors include three sons, Louis S. Paretti and his wife Sherry of Amite, La., Joseph A. Paretti and wife Sheila of Slidell, La., and Dominick “Nicky” Paretti and his wife Lana of Slidell; four daughters, Pamela Decuers and husband, Larry of Luling, La., Patricia Hornick and husband Bob of Ponchatoula, La., Paula Berlier and husband Jeff of Slidell, La., and Jo Ann Spinner and husband Guy of Pearl River, La.; 17 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one brother, Donald Brooks and wife Allie Rae of Liberty; four sisters, Sylvia Holland and husband Donald of Meadville, Faye Mullins and husband L.B. of Natchez, Pauline Wilkinson and husband Thomas of Liberty and Rachel Kester and husband Gary of Liberty and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
