VIDALIA — Services for Richard Washington, 64, of Vidalia, who died Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2009, at Camelot Leisure Living Home in Ferriday, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Triumph Baptist Church with the Rev. Douglas Logan Sr. officiating.
Burial will follow at Vidalia Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Washington was born March 28, 1945, in Vidalia, the son of Charlie Wilson and Cora Washington Smith.
Mr. Washington was employed by the City of Vidalia.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include one daughter, Lucusia W. Green and husband, Terry, of Wake Forest, N.C.; one stepson, Eddie Ray Jackson of Natchez; one sister, Gerry Dean Ellis of Vidalia; nine brothers, Willie Arrington of Baton Rouge, Damus Smith Jr., and David E. Washington, both of Vidalia, Lionel Smith and wife, Barbara, of Houston, Texas, Eddie L. Smith and wife, Shelia, of Shreveport, La., Lewis Matthews and wife, Vina, Lonnie Matthews, Donnie Matthews and Ronnie Matthews, all of Ferriday; a number of grandchildren including Caleb and Terryn Green, both of Wake Forest, N.C., Ashley Jackson and Jessica Minor, both of Vidalia, Ariana Jackson of Ferriday and Ramonte Jackson of Natchez; one uncle, David Smith; one aunt, Lubertha Johnson, both of Vidalia; and two lifelong friends, James Poole Sr. of Clayton and Nathaniel Williams of Vidalia.
