NATCHEZ — Services for Louella Furr Brown, 98, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012, at her residence, will be at 10 a.m. today at St. Mary Basilica with the Rev. David O’Connor officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Mrs. Brown was born Aug. 9, 1914, in Brookhaven, the daughter of Thomas J. Furr and Mary Coker Furr. She worked until the age of 90, first as bookkeeper for Geisenberger Drug Company and retired from Wilson Holder Drug Store.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William T. Brown Sr.; three brothers, Frank Furr, Charles Furr and Luther Furr; and one sister, Fannie Jean Hawkinson.
Survivors include one son, William T. Brown Jr. and wife, Katherine, of Natchez; one daughter, Ruth McWilliams and husband, Bob, of Natchez; two granddaughters, Tracy Reynolds and husband, Joe, of Vidalia and Melanie Waller and husband, Scott, of Brookhaven; one grandson, Robert McWilliams Jr. and fiancée, Amy Roth, of Louisville, Ky.; three great-grandsons, Spencer and William Reynolds and Drew Waller; two great-granddaughters, Alex Reynolds and Lori Waller; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Robert McWilliams Jr., Spencer Reynolds, William Reynolds, Scott Waller, Drew Waller and Toby Maier.
The family expresses deep appreciation to caregivers, Sandra Jenkins, Denise Thomas and Meeko Smith.
