CLAYTON — Services for Rosie Barnes “Nannie” Foster, 81, of Sicily Island, who died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012, at Franklin Medical Center in Winnsboro, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Sunnyside Church near Clayton with the Rev. Tim Parker and the Rev. Jerry Sharp officiating.
Burial will follow at Highland Park Cemetery in Sicily Island under the direction of Gill First National Funeral Home in Winnsboro.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the church.
Mrs. Foster was born Dec. 3, 1930, in Natchez. She was a longtime resident of Gretna, La., and was a member of Belle Chase Independent Church. In 1993, she and her husband, Manson, moved to Sicily Island where she attended Sunnyside Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, M.L. Foster; one grandson, Nicky Brandenburg; three sisters; and three brothers.
Survivors include three children, Vivian Foster Brandenburg and husband, Oliver, of Sicily Island, Tim Foster and wife, Angie, of Natchez and Connie Foster Couvillon and husband, Mike, of Marrero, La.; two brothers, Charles B. Barnes of Green Acres, La., and Larry L. Barnes of Vidalia; six grandchildren, Mark Brandenburg and wife, Tina, Stacy Bordelon and husband, Willie, Wendy Brandenburg, Timmy Foster and wife, Sonnie, John Michael Couvillon and Jennifer Fisher and husband, Joe; 13 great-grandchildren, Nichlos, Libby, David, Morgan, Wesley, Cody, Katlynn, Tara, Natalie, Steven, Cameron, Dylan and Lane; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Mark Brandenburg, Nichlos Brandenburg, Willie Bordelon, David Coughran, Joey Coughran, John Michael Couvillon, Steven Couvillon and Timmy Foster.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Barnes, Cole Goodwin, Glen Kenney and Jason Mendoza.
Any planned memorials may be made to Sunnyside Church Building Funds.
