VIDALIA — Services for John Alvin Duck Sr., 55, of Waterproof, La., who died Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009, at Heritage Manor Health & Rehab Center, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Zion Baptist Church.
Burial will follow at Selstown Cemetery in Stanton under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home in Bude.
Visitation will be from noon to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 1 p.m. until service Sunday at the church.
Mr. Duck was born March 18, 1954, in Natchez, the son of Jerome Duck Sr. and Mary L. Thomas Duck.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Catherine Thomas.
Survivors include a loving and devoted wife, Tommie Jean Rodgers Duck; four children, John Yearby of Vidalia, Joby Duck of San Antonio, Texas, Justin Rodgers of Waterproof and Tommie Gene Duck of Lake Charles, La.; four stepchildren, Myra Yearby of San Antonio, Katrina Yearby of Natchez, Ericka Perkins and husband, Eric, and Tanyanika Yearby of Vidalia; three brothers, Jerome Duck Jr. and Larry Duck and wife, NKendra, all of Natchez, and Rochel Duck of Los Angeles; one uncle, Will Duck of Los Angeles; one aunt, Pearl Duck of Natchez; mother-in-law, Irene Rogers of Vidalia; father-in-law, Charles Charrier of Waterproof; eight grandchildren; 17 step-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
