Former courthouse to get new roof in parish

VIDALIA — The leaky roof at the old courthouse in Vidalia will soon be a problem of the past.
The Concordia Parish Police Jury awarded a contract to replace the roof and repair other leaks in the building at the jury’s meeting Monday.
The jury voted to award the contract to the lowest of four bidders, Louisiana Roofing Contractors, for $120,000.
Police Jury President Melvin Ferrington said the company will have 90 days to complete the project.
In other news from the meeting:
• The jury approved final payments for the Airport Road Project to Jordan, Kaiser & Sessions for $13,294 and Camo Construction for $231,358.
• The jury voted to have only one meeting next month because of the holidays. The meeting will be at 6 p.m. Dec. 10.
• The jury met in executive session for 12 minutes to discuss a personnel matter.
