Mary Jacks

MEADVILLE — Services for Mary Seyfarth Jacks, 81, of Brookhaven, formerly of Franklin County, who died Friday, Dec. 4, 2009, at University Medical Center in Jackson, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Franklin Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will follow at Midway Cemetery under the direction of Franklin Funeral Home in Meadville.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Jacks was born Feb. 23, 1928, in Natchez, the daughter of Oscar Seyfarth and Theadora Seyfarth. She was formerly employed as a legal secretary and bookkeeper for a number of years and retired as the owner/operator of a children’s store. She was also a member of Johnson Grove Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by parents; her husband, Edgar Paul Jacks Sr.; and one daughter, Becky J. Hawkins.

Survivors include one son, Edgar Paul Jacks Jr., of Brookhaven; one daughter, Pat J. Farmer of Crystal Springs; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Huey Seyfarth of Houston, Texas; and one sister, Dora Summerall of Baton Rouge.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a favorite charity of choice.
