JONESVILLE — A Winnsboro man was killed this morning in a single-vehicle crash in Catahoula Parish.

Louisiana State Police responded to the crash at approximately 7:50 a.m. on Louisiana 8 near Rhinehart.

Charles D. Rose, 32, was driving a 2005 Kenworth 18-wheeler headed west when he lost control and ran off the road to the right side, a state police spokesman said.

Rose then attempted to re-enter the roadway, and the truck began to rotate, causing the truck’s load to shift and overturn.

Rose was not wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Routine toxicology tests are pending. The crash remains under investigation.
