It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Vidalia and Natchez have the majority of their holiday decorations up, and both cities will kick off festivities later this week. It’s a great time of year in the Miss-Lou, with plenty to do and see.

But you can say that most any day of the year around here. Let’s look back on some of the fun last week brought us.

-The Natchez Ballet Academy performed The Nutcracker multiple times, showing off the smallest to the tallest dancers. This great holiday tradition is fun for so many.

-Students at McLaurin Elementary School completed a canned food drive last week. The project brought out the competitive nature among the students, but also served to teach them about helping others in need.

-Trinity Episcopal Day School students have had fun with a video camera several times this year, but the lessons last week were a bit more serious. The students made a movie about bullying to share with the school, delivering a history lesson about Emmett Till and a modern-day lesson about considering the feelings of others.

-Wilkinson County Christian Academy is headed to a state title game this week after winning the South State championship Friday. Congratulations and good luck, Rams.

Take some time this week to think about a few things that make you thankful to live in the Miss-Lou. Then come out and join the community Friday for the annual lighting of the Natchez Christmas tree.
