MEADVILLE — Services for Ione Shell, 89, of Roxie, who died Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, at Meadville Convalescent Home in Meadville, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Franklin Funeral Home.

Burial will follow at Roxie Cemetery under the direction of Franklin Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from noon until service time Sunday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Shell was born May 12, 1923, in Liberty, the daughter of Thomas and Eunice Kirkland Gerald. She was a member of Roxie Methodist Church.

Mrs. Shell worked as a nursing assistant for a number of years. She was a homemaker, a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dan Shell Sr.; one son, Dan Shell Jr.; two grandchildren, Tom Shell and Dan Shell III; two sisters, Winnie Reid and Camille Reid; and two brothers, Emmitt Gerald and Carey Gerald.

Survivors include one brother, Howard Gerald and wife, Linda, of Wesson; one sister, Rosa Spell of Yazoo City; one daughter-in-law, Betty Newman of Roxie; one grandchild, Kathy Travis of Meadville; three great-grandchildren, Layne Price, Wade Price and Loren Blackwell; two great-great-grandchildren, Rory Pinter and Raylee Price; and a number of nieces and nephews.
