Cathedral hearing postponed

NATCHEZ — With no one representing Cathedral School at the Natchez Preservation Commission at its Wednesday meeting, the commission postponed review of a site plan for construction of a new middle school facility at Cathedral School.
The commission agreed that someone from the school or from Waycaster & Associates, the architectural firm for the project, should be at the meeting to answer questions or address concerns of the commission.
The Natchez Planning Commission approved the site plan for the facility in October.
The middle school facility is part of an approximately $5 million update for the Cathedral campus.
In other news from the meeting, the commission approved:
4An application from Velta Rowden at 210 Linton Ave. to place a 10×12 storage shed at the back left corner of the property to store firewood.
4An application from Debra Blackwell at 307 N. Union St. to construct a roof over an existing deck on the back of the house.
4An application from Teresa Roddy at 403 Franklin St. to restore the façade of the house to its original state.
4An application from Under-the-Hill Saloon owner Andre Farish to cover the porch of the saloon with a metal roof.
4An application from Tim Blalock at 900 Main St. for exterior alterations and an addition.
4An application from Yvonne Washington at 309 Washington St. for fountain structure at the side of the house.
