MONTEREY — Services for Myrtle Willidene Morace Paul, 82, of Acme, La., who died Friday, Nov. 9, 2012, at Columns Nursing Home in Jonesville, were Monday at New Era Baptist Church where the Rev. Dennis Baker and the Rev. Mickey Bounds officiated.
Burial was at New Era Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
Mrs. Paul was born on Nov. 18, 1929, in Acme, the daughter of Hobart Hayes Morace and Myrtle Olivia Morace.
She was a resident of Monterey, a home maker and a lifelong member of New Era Baptist Church. She was active in the Women’s Missionary Union, a member of the Black River Garden Club and past president of the Monterey PTA.
Mrs. Paul was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter, Vala Mae Paul.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years, James Clay Paul of Acme; two sons, Don Paul of Portsmouth, R.I. and Marcus Paul and wife, Sue, of Monterey; five daughters, Teresa Williams and husband, Neil, of Menlo Park, Calif., Olivia Duplessis and husband, Bobby, of Mandeville, Barbara DePrato and husband, Jay, of Lake St. John, Evette Cross and husband, Steve, of Monterey, and Sarah Mills and husband, Chris, of Perth, Australia; one sister, Hazel Morace Little of Monterey; 18 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandson.
Pallbearers were Brent Burley, Blake Burley, Clay Owens, Paul Mathis, Bubba Cross and Chris Crowell.
