FERRIDAY — Services for Louise Ward, 85, of Ridgecrest, who died Thursday, Jan. 28, 2010, in Ridgecrest, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Young’s Funeral Home.
Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Ward was born May 3, 1924, in Eddiston, the daughter of Elmer Henry Wilson and Lucy Bowman Wilson. She was a caring and loving mother who kept faith and family first in her life. She was deeply loved by all of her family and will be dearly missed. Mom, we love you.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Earl Ward; her parents; two sisters, Ethel Wilson Schierholt and Bell Wilson; and special friend, Joe Harvell.
Survivors include four sons, Randy Ward and wife, Bonnie Jo, of Ferriday, Douglas Ward and wife, Jeanie, of Ridgecrest, Winfield Ward and wife, Georgia, of Happazard, La., and Phillip Ward and wife, Joyce, of Conway, Ark.; one daughter, Gail Armstrong and husband, Arlin, of Gilmore, Texas; one sister, Bertie Matthews of Shreveport, La.; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
