Hotel armed robbers take thousands of dollars

NATCHEZ — Natchez Police are investigating an armed robbery that resulted in the loss of thousands of dollars for three men.
The police responded to the Hampton Inn, 627 S. Canal St., Sunday evening after three victims reported that two men with guns and bandannas covering their faces had robbed them.
According to a report filed at the Natchez Police Department, the two robbers told the three victims to get on the floor of the hotel meeting room and empty their pockets.
From one of the victims, they reportedly took a bag of coins and jewelry, a 9mm gun, an iPhone 4S and “thousands of dollars in cash.”
From the second victim, the robbers took $500 and an iPhone 5.
From the third victim, the masked gunmen stole $6,000 and an iPhone 4S. The robbers also reportedly took the victims’ keys before fleeing the room and leaving the building through a maintenance room door.
A jewelry and coin buyer’s road show was set up at the Hampton Inn Saturday and Sunday.
According to the report, the suspects left the scene in a gray Jeep Cherokee with an East Automotive dealership tag.
Natchez Police Chief Danny White and other police department spokesmen could not be reached for comment Monday.
