NATCHEZ — Services for James Wilkins, 89, of Natchez, who died Thursday, Feb. 11, 2010, at River Regions Medical Center in Vicksburg, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wilsoni Johnson officiating.

Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from noon to 7 p.m. today with Masonic rites at 7 p.m., all at the funeral home.

Mr. Wilkins was born June 27, 1920, in Adams County, the son of Hamp Wilkins and Clara Freeman Wilkins. He was a member of St. Peter Baptist Church. He was employed as a chauffeur for the families of David Junkin and Walter Heard.

Mr. Wilkins was also a member of Clover Hill Lodge No. 13 AF&AM and the MWWTM Grant Jr. Grand Lodge AF&AM.

He was preceded in death by his parents;

Survivors include his wife, Ruby Fells Wilkins of Port Gibson; one daughter, Audrey Watkins of Cleveland, Ohio; one brother, Willie Holmes and wife, Nevada, of New Orleans; six stepchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Masons.
