FROGMORE, La. — Services for Tommie Jefferson, 65, of Ferriday, who died Sunday, Feb. 21, 2010, at Riverland Medical Center in Ferriday, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. James Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Cade officiating.

Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Jefferson was born Nov. 19, 1944, in Frogmore, the son of Lige and Annie Green Jefferson. He was employed as a heavy equipment operator.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Ronnie Lee Jefferson.

Survivors include his wife, Anna Lewis Jefferson; three sons, James Jefferson of Houston, Texas, Jesse Jefferson of Phoenix, Ariz., and Tommie Bell of Natchez; four daughters, Barbara Jefferson of Ferriday, JoAnn Jefferson of Detroit, Sara Jefferson and Tonya Jefferson, both of Atlanta; six brothers, Percy, Danny and Samuel Jefferson, all of Ferriday, T.J. Jefferson of New Orleans, Curtis Jefferson of Jackson and Roger Jefferson of Atlanta; six sisters, Maxine, Lucy and Annie Bell Jefferson, all of Jackson, Frances Jefferson of Natchez, Ruth Jefferson of Houston and Thelma Jefferson of Washington, D.C.; one stepson, Cedric Jefferson of Atlanta; 20 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and six step-grandchildren.
