NATCHEZ — Services for Anne Rutherford Meinzinger, 83, of Port St. Lucie, Fla., formerly of Natchez, who died Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2010, in Port St. Lucie, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel with the Rev. Denny Read officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Meinzinger was born Jan. 11, 1927, in Natchez, the daughter of George Rodger and Lillian Estelle Tabor Rutherford Sr. She was married at First Presbyterian Church of Natchez and it served as her spiritual anchor during the early years of her life. After World War II, she and her husband, Edward E. Meinzinger Sr., moved to New Jersey and raised two sons. They lived in New York state for eight years and relocated back to Natchez in 1975, and managed Quality Electric Company until retiring in Port St. Lucie in 1986.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother, George Rodger Rutherford Jr.; and one sister, Mary Janet Rutherford.
Survivors include two sons, Edward E. Meinzinger Jr. and wife, Barbara, of Stuart, Fla., and Rodger K. Meinzinger and wife, Pam, and their children, Andrew, Alex and Kathryn, all of Gulfport.
Pallbearers will be Edward Meinzinger, Rodger Meinzinger, Andrew Meinzinger, Alex Meinzinger, Cole Rutherford and George Rutherford III.
