NATCHEZ — Services for Henry Dennis, 83, of Natchez, who died Friday, March 5, 2010, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Luke African Methodist Episcopal Church with the Rev. Lloyd Bailey officiating.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from noon to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Dennis was born March 14, 1926, in Wilkinson County, the son of Moses Dennis. He was reared by Louis Wells and Grace Ann Wells.
He was retired from Sante Fe Railroad Company of Chicago. He was a Methodist.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include one son, Louis Butler of Sibley; one daughter, Shelia Cherry of Kentwood, La.; two sisters, Dorothy Whittley and Leola Barnes, both of Natchez; one aunt, Leola McCullar of Woodville; one uncle, Nathaniel Cory of Chicago; three grandchildren, Trevon Dyson of New York, Jhanae Cherry and Jacovia Cherry of Kentwood; special nephew, James Dennis of Natchez; two special nieces, Ardra Harris of Dallas and Pricilla McGee of Biloxi; and a number of other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be friends of the family.
