FERRIDAY — Services for Bobbie Jean Lambert Gibson, 80, of Ferriday, who died Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012, at Riverside Hospital in Alexandria, La., will be at 10 a.m. today at Sycamore Baptist Church with the Rev. Mack Walker and the Rev. Richard Cullum officiating.
Burial will follow at Wanilla Cemetery in Monticello under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time today at the church.
Mrs. Gibson was born July 16, 1932, in Wesson, the daughter of Burley Jefferson Lambert and Laura Mae Farrar Lambert. She was a homemaker and a member of Sycamore Baptist Church.
Mrs. Gibson was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Elbert Lambert; three sisters, Mildred Arleeta Reid, Farrar Crawford and Helen Langford; and one granddaughter, Jennifer Gibson.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years, A.J. Gibson; two sons, Gary Gibson and wife, Janice, of Vidalia and Richard Gibson of Ferriday; three sisters, Betty Cox of Biloxi, Faye King of Mendenhall and Ruth Lambert of Wesson; two grandsons, John Paul Gibson and wife, Laci, of Vidalia and Andrew Gibson of Ferriday; and two great-grandchildren, Jennyfer and Jada Gibson of Vidalia.
Pallbearers will be Scottie Chelette, Miles Smith, Shad Roberts, John Paul Gibson, James Wright and Stanley Dawson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Wade Kirby, Roy Doughty and Bob Gibson.
