NATCHEZ — Leola Kettleman Thrasher, 69, of Vidalia, died Friday, March 12, 2010, in the company of her family.
A memorial celebration of her life will be announced in April and will be in Yazoo City.
Mrs. Thrasher was born Nov. 2, 1940, in Holly Bluff, the daughter of Leo and Bettye Kettleman. She was a former chef, bakery and restaurant owner. She was also a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Stacee Ables Lindsey; one brother, William Frank “Cooter” Kettleman; and her parents.
Survivors include her husband, A.W. “Bub” Thrasher; three sons, Chris Ables and wife, Jeanie, of Vidalia, Dan Ables and wife, Elizabeth, and Mike Ables and wife, Virginia, all of Yazoo City; nine grandchildren, Landon and Woods Lindsey, Michael, Adam, Amber, Joshua, and Joseph Ables, Meaghan A. Ladner and Brenda A. Carson; three great-grandsons, Alex Ables, Jack Carson and Cason Ladner; two sisters, Brenda Paul and husband, Denny, of Yazoo City and Debbie O’Neal of Baton Rouge; two stepdaughters, Tammy Porter and husband, Dalton, of Bentonia and Renee Leigh and husband, Louis, of Magee; and a number of nephews and nieces.
